Overview

Students have to produce three blogs about different aspects of video technology. They can use text, pictures and videos to help to produce their blogs.

1. Brief History of TV in the UK and abroad?

Should include
A brief history of broadcasting in UK
Concentrate on video technology used – Cameras and broadcasting TV images
Compare the UK broadcasting standards with other countries – PAL, NTSC and SECAM
Plot the technological advances through the history of TV and describe how they changed the way TV was consumed

2. How has the digital world change the way we consume and create TV?

Should include
How can you watch TV in the digital world? (Broadcast systems)
What is the advantage of digital cameras over video/film cameras?
How has editing improved in the digital world?


3. Have online videos lowered the standards of television production?

Should include
Comparing domestic with professional productions
Think about equipment and software used to create video productions
